As TD puts career development at the forefront of our colleague experience, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.As a candidate, you are encouraged to ask compensation related questions and have an open dialogue with your recruiter who can provide you more specific details for this role.Line of Business:Credit ManagementJob Description:TD's Middle Market Credit Management Group is responsible for managing credit relationships with borrowers with revenues between $100 million and $1 billion+. The Credit Portfolio Manager is responsible for evaluating new credit opportunities with Middle Market prospects and borrowers as well as managing a portfolio of existing credit relationships. The key accountabilities of this role are identifying key risks, analyzing loan documentation, evaluating financial performance, determining appropriate enterprise and asset values, recommending risk ratings, and ensuring compliance with credit policies, standards, and TD's risk appetite. Additionally, Portfolio Managers are responsible for supervising the work of Credit Analysts in the deal team environment. Strong teamwork, writing and quantitative skills, including familiarity with 3 statement financial projection modelling, are essential for Portfolio Managers in the Middle Market Credit Management.The Credit Portfolio Manager I (CPM), Middle Market is responsible to gather financial and general business information pertaining to customer and prospect loan requests. The Credit Portfolio Manager I (CPM), Middle Market performs financial analyses needed to make credit decisions, contributes and provides input to group loan decision process based on evaluation of credit risk and other key factors and supports commercial banking team and recommends credit solutions that add value to the Customer.Depth & Scope:• Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required• Gathers financial and general business information pertaining to customer and prospect loan requests, performs financial analyses needed to make credit decisions; Contributes and provides input to group loan decision process based on evaluation of credit risk and other key factors; Supports commercial banking team and recommends credit solutions that add value to the Customer• Manages specific credit activities to ensure performance quality, consistency of underwriting and timeliness meets or exceeds Customer expectations; May manage overall analytical support and workflow production needs for a department• Works on larger, more complex deals, mainly focused on Middle Market• May manage and/or lead as well as create, develop and introduce commercial and credit-related initiatives• Acts as a consultant to business lines regarding credit issues, processes and procedures• Functions as a resource for business lines and works with senior management on various issues; managing expectations and negotiating timelines• Partners with Lending/Credit Officers to address exceptions identified by internal/external auditors and/or examiners• Coordinates with Relationship Managers to perform routine financial analyses and credit investigations• May communicates credit decisions to Relationship Managers• Manages and oversees workflow and adherence to policy for department• Participates in organizational cost benefit analysis and implementation• Manages activities by creating and maintaining quantifiable service level standards against business performance• Ensures timeliness of information and efficiency in process and workflow• Maintains confidentiality of credit and customer information at all times• May lead a team of Credit Analysts within a region or marketEducation & Experience:• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience• 5+ years related experience• Strong understanding of commercial business development techniques and credit decisions• Demonstrates business development track record• Strong market presence with wide network of outside referral sources for new business• Demonstrates credit and financial analysis skills• Refined negotiation skills• Demonstrates communication skills, both verbal and written• Demonstrates PC skillsCustomer Accountabilities:• Understands and supports the Bank’s Customer Service Strategy• Considers the impact of advice and decisions on the well-being of the Bank, as well as its customers, its employees and stakeholders• Provides the highest level of Customer service when dealing with internal partners, vendors or our Customers - WOW at every opportunity• Leads, coaches and models quality service delivery at every interaction• Supports the ongoing improvement of the partner/Customer experienceShareholder Accountabilities:• Represents TD at civic, professional and bank-sponsored events; serves on non-profit boards and participates on professional organizations• Represents the franchise both internally and externally; develop and maintain relationships with major clients, regulators, and the investment community and, with other TD leaders, support a high, positive public profile for the TD franchise• Managers, other than those who serve as Executive/Senior Level Officials and Managers, including those who oversee and direct the delivery of products, services or functions at group, regional or divisional levels of organizations• Receives directions from the Executive/Senior Level management and typically lead major business units• Implements policies, programs and directives of executive/senior management through subordinate managers and within the parameters set by Executive/Senior Level management• Serves at functional, line of business segment or branch levels and are responsible for directing and executing the day-to-day operational objectives of the Company, conveying the directions of higher level officials and managers to subordinate personnel and, in some instances, directly supervising the activities of exempt and non-exempt personnel• Includes those who report directly to middle managers• Supports the development and implementation of operational strategies and objectives to achieve measurable excellence in the quality delivery of sales, service, and products aligned with “Best Run” concepts and overall enterprise strategy and objectives• Participates in establishing and executing plans and goals for the Business to drive toward results• Develops and maintains an operating budget, ensuring adherence to budget; May delegate budgetary assignments to direct reports, but maintains overall budgetary responsibility and oversight• Provides financial reports and analysis including budget variances to management on a regular basis• Communicates business strategies, programs and practices – establish and operate change strategy throughout the organization• Delivers business services, functions and capabilities that optimize the use of process, technology and our people, and take advantage of TD’s scale and operating model• Ensures TD is a best run, integrated, customer-focused, growth organization• Understands business unit/function’s own risk appetite statement, objectives for risk and control, and measures, where applicable, making sure these are aligned with TD’s Risk Appetite; Ensures that the business/function operates within TD’s Risk Appetite by tracking key metrics against its policies, procedures and limits• Successfully completes all required job specific, compliance-related training and ensure team members complete all required training Understands, utilizes and follows compliance/risk and control programs; Consults with all risk functions in the development and documentation of policies, procedures and controls, for all department processes• Ensures ongoing compliance with internal/external audit and regulatory requirements;
