The Director of Sales will serve on the AMS leadership team, reporting to the regional Vice President and General Manager. This role is integral to driving revenue growth across the NAM Utility segment, overseeing customer relationships, and executing market-leading go-to-market strategies. The Energy business unit specializes in providing low- to high-voltage solutions for connecting, protecting, and insulating power equipment.Key Responsibilities:• Lead and Inspire: Directly oversee the NAM Utilities sales team, fostering a customer-first approach to ensure client success and loyalty.• Drive Revenue Growth: Set and achieve revenue targets for the Utility and Industrial product lines by implementing account management best practices and demonstrating thought leadership in select end markets.• Collaborative Strategy Execution: Partner cross-functionally with teams across Strategy and Business Development, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, and Regional Sales to implement the business unit’s go-to-market (GTM) strategy in a direct reporting and matrix-managed environment.• Customer Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with customers across North America, understanding their needs and leveraging this knowledge to tailor solutions that drive growth.• Team Leadership: Inspire and guide a regional sales team, promoting a hands-on leadership style to motivate and engage the team in a fast-paced environment while executing a strategic vision for a diverse portfolio of technical products.• KPIs: Achievement of FY24 revenue targets for Utility and Industrial segments.What your background should look like:Required Qualifications and Experience:• Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in Utility Sales within the USA and Canada, with a focus on strategic sales leadership in technical and product-based environments.• Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, ideally coupled with a degree in Administration or an MBA.• Leadership Experience: At least 10 years in commercial, product management, or sales roles, with a proven track record in leading, developing, and motivating remote teams.• Sales Acumen: Demonstrated experience managing a sales organization, developing action plans, and executing them effectively to achieve growth targets.• Technical Competency: Strong background in electrical products with the ability to deliver technical and commercial presentations, and provide market insights to senior leadership.• Market Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Utility Electrical segment dynamics across North America, including key regional differencesBehavioral Competencies:• Analytical and Strategic: Demonstrates strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to implement global strategies while adapting to local needs.• People Development: Focused on talent and organizational structure, fostering team growth in alignment with business goals.• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works seamlessly with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and HR to achieve cohesive decision-making on NAM Utility initiatives.• Cultural Awareness: Effective cross-cultural communicator with a collaborative approach.• Growth Mindset: Embraces a growth-oriented and agile mindset to drive continuous improvement and business development.• Professional Representation: Upholds TE Connectivity’s values and reputation in all external and internal engagements.Additional Core CompetenciesBuilding Effective TeamsManaging and Measuring WorkMotivating OthersValues: Integrity, Accountability, Inclusion, Innovation, TeamworkSET : Strategy, Execution, Talent (for managers)ABOUT TE CONNECTIVITYTE Connectivity is a global industrial technology leader creating a safer, sustainable, productive, and connected future.
