We are seeking a skilled DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of our applications and infrastructure. In this role, you will monitor systems, design scalable policies, automate processes, and provide technical support to maintain peak performance. You'll collaborate with Agile teams to define technical requirements, detect vulnerabilities, and improve deployment pipelines. The ideal candidate has expertise in AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, along with strong scripting skills and database experience. You'll play a pivotal role in driving innovation, mentoring team members, and fostering a DevOps culture.
Review application and service performance; recommend actions to correct poor performance
Design policies for load balancing and scaling large applications with dynamic traffic
Review and detect vulnerabilities in code, dependencies, and systems; assist teams with updates and patches
Monitor applications and infrastructure using tools like Data Dog, New Relic, Cloudwatch
Configure thresholds and escalation policies for alerting
Detect when deployment pipelines are a bottleneck for development teams and help to rectify
Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and complex problem resolution
Use automation to drive technical innovation and efficiency
Document and diagram processes, systems, and tools
Conduct post-mortems for continual improvement
Champion and mentor others on the DevOps/SRE philosophy
Collaborate with Agile squads to define technical requirements
Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and AWS/Cloud infrastructure management using IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Knowledge of packaging and deploying front-end code (HTML/JS/CSS) for large applications
Proficiency in scripting (Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
Experience working on databases (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB)
Familiarity with team-based git workflows (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Experience with programming languages (e.g. Go, Node and/or Python)
Familiarity with GraphQL endpoints and serverless frameworks (e.g., AWS Lambda)
Knowledge of front-end frameworks like React and feature flag tools (e.g., LaunchDarkly, PostHog)
Experience with conversational AI
Familiarity with streaming/ETL/ELT data pipelines and/or MLOps workflows
Knowledge of graph databases (e.g., Neo4j)

Learn about our product’s infrastructure components and how it ties to products and business value
At 1 week:
You have a good idea of our infrastructure map
You have made some small improvement to observability or process in production
At 1 month:
You’ve done a deep dive into all our major infrastructure components
You’ve made some marked improvements in automation, observability and security.
At 3 months:
You are fully fluent in our platform and infrastructure, showing us what is possible, what can be improved.
You are helping us plan our roadmap with infrastructure, security and reliability in mind

Paid Work Trial
Goal: See you in action and let you work closely with your potential team, If you have reached this step, we are hoping that we have found out person.
You will be given a project to work on over a week and full access to any Teal resource and employee you need
You will be paid a rate in line with the salary for the role, we are not looking for free work
The majority of this project can be done async, with a few scheduled team meetings we’d like you to attend. We are generally able to work around any schedule conflicts you have.

Salary $160,000 - $180,000
