Team Lead - New Business

The Team Lead is responsible for minimizing bottlenecks in production and promoting a seamless service experience internally and externally. The Team Lead models urgency, quality and caring curiosity to aid the team in achieving goals and resolving field concerns and demands. Candidates for this role are aspiring for team leadership responsibilities in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • DIRECTS TEAM ON IMPLEMENTING CHANGES: Works with New Business and Underwriting leadership to create a seamless work and communication stream.
  • MENTORING / COACHING: Helps guide and educate others to improve quality, capabilities, efficiencies, and output.
  • HANDLES SPECIALIZED CASES: Coaches team members with complex cases and escalations, and handles cases as needed
  • OPERATIONAL OPTIMIZATION: Analyzes data and trends to identify opportunities that drive efficiencies in process and improve customer experience.
  • PROACTIVE PRODUCTION SUPPORT: Anticipates need to support production teams in workflow and actively works business as needed

Roles and Competencies:

Team Lead-

  • DIRECTS TEAM ON IMPLEMENTING CHANGES: Seeks to understand changes (e.g. product launches, regulations, internal processes, technology, etc.), identifies the impact of these changes and communicates the changes to the team to ensure consistency and quality across the New Business & Underwriting department.
  • MENTORING / COACHING: Guides and educates others to improve quality of work and efficiencies.
  • HANDLES SPECIALIZED CASES: Coaches team members with complex/time consuming escalations. Utilizes internal/external relationships to resolve escalations and keeps stakeholders informed, when necessary.
  • OPERATIONAL OPTIMIZATION: Gathers data and collaborates with internal stakeholders (e.g. Quality, R&D, Manager, etc.) to perform root cause analysis on various data points to improve efficiencies and drive large scale improvements.
  • OTHER PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED: Serves as a business representative on various initiatives to improve the business
  • PRODUCTION SUPPORT: Leveraging their expertise and experience in workflow is able to actively work business during times of need based on value/staffing.

The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position.
