We are seeking a Team Lead, Corporate Vehicles PDI to join our team at the Nissan Vehicle Assembly Plant in Smyrna, TN.

Job Description

Leads the Corporate Vehicles Production PDI Team: First Shift; Second Shift; Third Shift. Provides oversight and direction to employees. Executes and delivers services (Detail, Pre-delivery Inspection, Final Inspection, etc.) as needed to meet the receipt and delivery of vehicles. Assists in the development and administration of Corporate Vehicle programs, policies and procedures for US operations. Identifies and proposes immediate and long-term changes to Corporate Vehicle programs and policies to drive meaningful improvements and innovation. Participates in planning and execution of department strategy and day-to-day operations. Reviews, processes or approves daily transactions or requests for analysis as needed. Supports other Corporate Vehicle initiatives affecting the organization as requested.

Job Functions

1. Responsible for supervision of assigned associates, providing training, daily guidance, direction and feedback. Leads associates in the establishment of production and quality control standards. Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met. Reports associate timekeeping and performance/policy related issues to Supervisor.

2. Leads by example thru training and performing the tasks of the production teams (Detail, Pre-delivery Inspection, Vehicle Delivery, Vehicle Turn-in Inspection, etc.).

3. Provides a high level of customer service and leads the team to do the same.

4. Proposes and influences Corporate Vehicle programs, practice, and policy. Recommends measures for continual innovation & improvement of departmental programs, policies, and processes based on analysis of efficiency, effectiveness, and fulfillment of organizational needs.

5. Serves as point of contact for all shift related production workflow and escalation activities.

6. Represents Corporate Vehicle management at meetings and cross-functional teams as required. In the absence of the Corporate Vehicles management, may assume some duties and authority associated with that position.

7. Researches and develops solutions that create timely and efficient workflow.

8. Creates effective and accurate record keeping that ensures all activities are completed on time and repeatable.

9. Leads team and reports on effectiveness of skill mix and competencies.

10. Assists in developing process plans for production activities – including, but not limited to, parts, material, and facility needs.

11. Looks for continuous improvement opportunities by reviewing team throughput and accuracy, while looking ahead to ensure proper team support is available.

12. Performs other related duties, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.

1. Job Knowledge and Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of vehicle inspection, detail, and related requirements for Nissan and Infiniti vehicles. Ability to execute policy administration, practices, and procedures.

2. Experience: Three or more years of directly related experience.

3. Leadership Experience: Supervisory experience in a work leader role coordinating the work of other employees or contractors is preferred. Acts as a thought leader or information resource, providing on-site guidance. Works under minimal supervision.

4. Education: Bachelor’s or technical certification in a related discipline. May consider equivalent experience, related college or technical courses, seminars and in-house classroom training. ASE Certification a plus.

5. Computer Skills: General knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and other PC applications.
