Team Leader - Back End

Position overview:

Back end Team Leader is key member of shift operation team and their primary role is to focus on operation, process and maintenance issues of backend and take corrective actions on time during his shift. You will gain mastery in process troubleshooting and maintenance of can-making equipment, and leading, inspiring and developing your team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Responsible for smooth operation and maintenance of backend equipment.
• Ensure daily safety, quality and maintenance checks are completed and remedial/prevetive actions are taken on time.
• Ensure Housekeeping is maintained during shift hours and handover the shift with good housekeeping.
• Responsible for area KPI’s such as downtime, Spoilage, HFI’s. Ensure to check process and can parameters are within specification. Troubleshoot equipment for process issues and seek help if needed from Engineering.
• Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives e.g. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SMED, 5S, ISO, etc. Conduct lean manufacturing activities and participate in audits as per company requirements. Attend area team meetings on periodical basis. Drives area improvement agenda based on meeting outcomes.
• Work closely with engineering resources on efficient changeover activities.
• Follows and maintain organization’s SOPs and safe working practices. Comply with any legal, environmental and safety, BRC requirements and/or checks.

Experience and skills required:

• Diploma in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or tooling
• Previous experience in maintenance withing a multi-national manufacturing company
• Computer literacy and the ability to generate reports. Ability to read, understand and develop engineering drawings.
• Analytical skills to interpret numerical data.
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety work practices. Must be able to handle Flammable, and combustible substances.
• Fluent in English
