Team Leader- DevApps/Software Security

In a typical branch office, a financial advisor meets with clients and receives branch office support, so they can focus on building deep relationships with clients. Headquarters associates in St. Louis, Tempe and Mississauga provide support and expertise to help U.S. and Canada branch teams deliver an ideal client experience. We continue to grow to meet the needs of long-term individual investors.

Team Overview….

The Software Security team is responsible for ensuring our applications release to production with a security first mentality. The Developer Application team is responsible for ensuring our developers have all the tools needed to be successful in releasing their applications. Both teams support our development community to release applications that are custom built, and vendor supported applications, used daily by our home office associates, 12,000 branch teams and clients to help clients achieve their financial goals.

We are seeking an exceptionally talented person to innovate and collaborate with our team to generate creative solutions and new ideas that will change the way we support our developers and release these applications. What you'll do….
You’ll lead two of our teams of DevSecOps professionals who partner with our development, security, and infrastructure teams. You'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of extraordinary experiences to the firm’s clients, branch teams, and associates. Successful candidates will be able to:

  • Lead - Align team activities, strategies, responsibilities, and objectives with the firm's strategic direction. Co-create and execute on strategy and objectives with the team and leaders. Develop and execute on-going improvements for processes related to the team (e.g., resource management, succession planning). Provide leadership, development and mentoring to associates on the team
  • Plan – Assist with defining, measuring, and meeting business requirements, and providing program or system level resource estimates
  • Partner – Align with our partner teams in development, security, and infrastructure to deliver best in class solutions to support our teams release secure applications with a CI/CT/CD mindset.
  • Mentor – Provide guidance, training and mentorship on technical systems design, development of best practices, and Technology processes and tools
  • Learn - Manage and develop self while internalizing leadership feedback
  • Communicate - Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships across teams, departments, divisions, and vendors
What you'll need…
  • 5+ Years of Hands-on Leadership experience
  • 5+ years of Hands-on Experience in software development and/or support of applications in Web environment using tools such as CloudBees, Jira, Artifactory, Coverity, Blackduck
  • Hands-on experience bringing in new tools to enhance the productivity of engineer/developers
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, etc. preferred or equivalent experience in information systems

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:
