As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable backend systems that are integral to our client’s success. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, lead architecture discussions, and ensure that our systems meet the highest standards of reliability and performance.Responsibilities:• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems using Scala.• Lead or participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, and design reviews to ensure scalable and reliable solutions.• Build APIs and services using Scala, ensuring they meet performance and security requirements.• Take initiatives to improve existing systems and unblock yourself and your team.• Implement caching strategies, manage source control, and contribute and maintain CI/CD pipelines.• Collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure seamless integration and service operation.• Participate in on-call rotations and perform root cause analyses to maintain system reliability.• Stay current with industry trends and share knowledge through presentations, tech talks, and other knowledge-sharing activities.Required Skills:• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.• 5+ years of experience designing and delivering backend applications in a production environment.• Strong understanding of functional programming patterns and principles in Scala.• Proficiency in building RESTful services using Scala APIs.• Experience with asynchronous programming models and concurrency in Scala.• Hands-on experience with containerization with tools like Docker.• Hands-on experience with contributing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP - AWS preferred)• Strong understanding of AGILE/Scrum practices.• Excellent problem-solving skills, self-learner, and able to work independently.• Strong written and verbal communication skills.Nice to Have:• Experience with ZIO in Scala.• Experience with Kubernetes.• Experience with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB.• Experience with SpinnakerWhat we offer:• Remote Work Opportunities• Flexible Work Hours• Unlimited PTO• Competitive Salaries• Health + Dental + Vision + Life Insurance• Long Term disability + 401k Match• Professional Development OpportunitiesExpected Compensation:Full-time: $140,000 - $165,000/yearThis position is a remote role, but candidates must be located near one of our hub offices: Los Angeles, Seattle, NYC, Orlando, San Francisco, or Bristol, CT.• Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
