As the Hardware Technical Project Manager , you'll work closely with our product, operations, and software teams to outline our internal product integration timelines, with one eye on our current processes and one eye on the horizon. Your main focus will be on owning a project from start to finish and managing the technical challenges along the way. You are heavily involved in resource tradeoffs and helping us identify the critical paths to success. You will collaborate with the other project managers to develop a cohesive plan from sale to delivery! This role reports to the Director of R&D, PMO & QA.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage hardware projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Develop comprehensive hardware project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
  • Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, mitigate risks and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze economics of project plans and provide actionable feedback relating to cost, benefit and return-on-investment standards.
  • Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.
  • Oversee acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects by talking with supply chain, operations, finance and procurement to assist in negotiating price and payment agreements with vendors.
  • Anticipate details of future projects by communicating directly with management and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news.
  • Responsible for tracking BOM costs and prototype spend.
  • Travel primarily to South San Francisco, CA headquarters (roughly 20%)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years experience in the IT field, including development work and interactions with software coding and engineering teams
  • Project leadership experience and strong teaming abilities
  • Personal accountability with foresight and good judgment
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Diplomatic problem solving skills with a can-do approach
  • Ability to work well within ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of how to manage competing priorities and influence without authority
  • Desire to bring solutions with a positive attitude and ownership standards
  • Self-awareness, integrity, authenticity, and a growth/entrepreneurial mindset, a self-starter
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite, Jira, and PM tools as needed


Preferred :

  • Proficiency with at least one web development language
  • PMP certification
  • Knowledge of lean practices
  • Technical documentation and agile/scrum sprints a plus

The pay for this position has a salary range of $130,000-$170,000. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and options.
