Responsibilities:
The incumbent is responsible for the execution of all aspects of cleaning/sanitization in controlled areas; critical and non-critical (Grades A, B, C, D, Controlled Non-Classified) which includes, but is not limited to, the production and packaging areas. The incumbent interacts with QC, QA, Tech services, Maintenance, IT, Materials Management, Product Development and other departments as required. This position may include a 2nd shift assignment.
Assist production management in coordinating and executing cleaning/sanitization activities (ceilings, walls, windows, floors, doors) at specified intervals with approved sanitizing agents within the production and packaging areas of Ferring’s US production facility, which includes but is not limited to the equipment and component prep rooms, filling room, capping room, personnel and material airlocks and connecting hallways, the packaging floor, the labelling room, the inspection rooms to assure compliance with area environmental conditions to support pre-defined Sterility Assurance Levels (SAL) of the overall EM Program.
  • Prepare sanitizing agents and equipment in accordance with department SOPs; discard spent agents and equipment per department SOPs. Fill out cleaning logs as appropriate.
  • May provide general or direct supervision to non-exempt employees. A portion of the time may be spent performing individual tasks. Role related Performance Indicators.
  • Adhere to cGMPs, SOPs, Batch Record Processing Steps and site safety policies as required. ·
  • Collects used/soiled gowning supplies from area receptacles and deposits them for discarding or recycling.
  • Will maintain an accurate inventory of aseptic area cleaning supplies and disinfection agents; will notify supervisor if inventory levels approach reorder points.
  • Restocks sterile and non-sterile gowning supplies in the appropriate bins/shelves in gowning rooms.

  • Assist supervision with SOP development and review
  • Cross train as packaging/production operator to provide backup if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends based on business needs.

Requirements:
  • Preferred pharmaceutical industry or related experience.
  • Demonstrated effective communicating (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience working in controlled critical/ non-critical areas (Grade A/B, C, D or ISO5, 7, 8).
  • This position requires oversight in GMP areas (Grade A/B, C and D) within the Parsippany manufacturing facility and the incumbent must demonstrate an ability to enter these GMP areas by passing established gown qualifications.
  • Ability to stand on feet for up to four hours at a time;
  • Be able to lift, push, and /or pull up to 25 pounds;
  • Be able to independently gown for aseptic processing;
  • Meet minimal visual acuity requirements necessary for quality assessments in a production or packaging environment;
  • Be able to be medically cleared to wear full face tight fitting respirator based on OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard.
  • Able to move freely around in a manufacturing environment, including moving about on stairs, loading docks, and ladders, and in an around machines with moving parts.
