Technician, R&D Laboratory

The Technician, R&D Laboratory will perform and support a variety of lab activities which include: processing tissue, managing daily lab operations, and managing tissue inventory/documents/information.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform tissue processing tasks such as identify and select portions of tissue that meet thickness and other specification requirements

Operate a variety of equipment for tissue processing, which may include gauges, ovens, tissue cutter, and chart recorders assuring appropriate settings and parameters

Review, follow and perform job functions in compliance with work instructions/process sheets and adherence with SOPs, including recording traceable information and following good documentation practices

Maintains laboratory in a safe, clean, and orderly condition, which includes cleaning the glassware and facilitating the storage, collection, and disposal of hazardous wastes

Manage the laboratory’s inventory of tissue, solution, and tools by updating, ordering, receiving, and storing the supplies

Manage tissue processing work orders, schedule, and Smartsheet

Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree or technical degree/certificate in a science discipline - OR -

1+ year of experience in a laboratory environment

Preferred Qualifications:
Tissue processing experience

R&D lab and/or medical device experience

Experience managing work orders (utilizing Smartsheet or other spreadsheet program)

Good communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

Able to read, write, comprehend and speak English.

Ability to produce high quality work while working independently

Ability to interact effectively with team and contribute constructively to team environment and outside department.

Ability to provide and accept feedback in a professional, direct, and tactful manner.

Ability to perform basic trouble shooting.

Ability to use a variety of equipment, good hand-eye coordination, and high manual dexterity.

Strict attention to detail

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

Excellent computer skills, including usage of MS office suite.

Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

For California, the base pay range for this position is $41,000 to $58,000(highly experienced).
The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
