Technology Specialist (Temporary)

The Technology Specialist is a key member of Summit's Technology Team. This temporary position serves as the point person for school site technology needs and projects. This position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, specifically at our schools in El Cerrito and Richmond, and reports to our Technology Manager. This is a temporary position scheduled to end on or before October 13th, 2023 unless stated otherwise in the offer letter.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the technical point person for all technology related issues at assigned schools
  • Provide excellent customer service and build relationships with school site and Home Office faculty
  • Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair/warranty all school and office technology equipment (including, but not limited to laptops, projectors, printers, video conferencing equipment, etc.) and software
  • Help administer Google Apps for students and faculty
  • Update and maintain Internet content filtering at school sites
  • Collaborate with network team to resolve network issues at school sites and test enhancements, fixes, and system improvements
  • Proactively address technology issues at office and school sites, and provide updates to the team about school site activities
  • Support online student learning and assessments at schools
  • Collaborate with team members and school site faculty to design system improvements
  • Administer and support projects/systems that help to improve school site operations or otherwise support academic outcomes
  • Together with school site admin staff, manage school site technology inventory

What You'll Need:

  • Commitment to uphold Summit's values, belief that all children deserve a rigorous and equitable education that prepares them for college and for life
  • A Bachelor's degree
  • 0 - 3 years of related working experience with tier 1 systems support and resolving issues related to devices such as computers, printers, networks, and smartphones
  • Ability to troubleshoot technology issues, especially within the Windows 10 environment, ChromeOS environment, and other software such as Zoom
  • Experience configuring, repairing, and administering technology devices including: laptops (Windows PCs and Chromebooks), printers, projectors, and video conference equipment
  • Basic understanding of systems administration; experience administering Google Apps or other software systems preferable
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts
  • Ability to travel throughout the Bay Area
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 35 lbs
  • Ability to meet health clearance, and pass the background checks, per education code

Our compensation policy strives to be equitable and transparent. The salary for this position starts at $67,321 and goes up to $88,590 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
