Position Summary: The Teen Parent Coordinator is responsible for the planning, support and monitoring of students who have become pregnant or are parenting. The Coordinator will develop and implement collaborative strategies between OKCPS, Variety Care and other community agencies around teen parents. The Coordinator will develop focused interventions to increase school attendance, academic success and connect to students to medical and community resources. This position is a shared position between OKCPS and Variety Care. The Coordinator will be meeting weekly, sharing records, planning and accessing information systems at both OKCPS and Variety Care.
Essential Duties:
Coordinates availability of services and/or programs for expecting students or students who are parents and works to bring those services to the student.
Develops, coordinates, implements and/or maintains support programming through coordination and partnerships with other agency partners.
Monitors at risk indicators of students who are pregnant, or parents, and take needed interventions.
Assists students in accessing doctor's appointments, school activities and other identified activities.
Acts as a resource to teen parents and their families.
Coordinates with schools and other district staff in developing and implementing initiatives to address the needs of students who are pregnant or who are parents.
Maintains proper records of the all programs responsible.
Promotes the overall effectiveness of the organization by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities of other members of the Department during peak periods or when there is an overload of duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Bilingual interpretation and translation skills in Spanish
Licensed, or under supervision in an area of social services
*Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education at a 2:1 ratio. Therefore for every 1 year of college lacking, 2 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted. Physical/Mental Requirements:
Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer
Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and other required duties
Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone
Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 25 pounds
Sitting for prolonged periods of time
May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines
Work Environment:
Office duties will be performed in a well-lighted, climate controlled environment
