The ideal candidate has a passion for news and writing, elections, and connecting with community through digital platforms.We are looking for an experienced digital producer to manage our election content on KSDK.com and for vacation relief. This position is part time and temporary through mid-November.Responsibilities• Write and publish articles for KSDK digital platforms.• Manage and oversee our election content and guide on KSDK.com• Use social media listening and digital analytics tools to keep up with the daily news cycle.• Edit content for accuracy and ethical journalism in accordance with KSDK and AP style guidance.• Work alongside multi-skilled journalists, reporters, photojournalists and other content creators on the production of their content for digital audiences.• Efficiently scour the internet for viral trends and impactful story ideas.• Reach out to organizations, individuals and other sources to gain and confirm information.• Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or senior digital producers.Requirements• Experience in a local newsroom preferred, but not necessary.• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines.• Ability to cultivate and develop working relationships with local newsmakers and their staff.• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.• Experience with content management systems (CMS) preferred• Experience creating and managing content on social media platforms preferred• Knowledge of AP style, grammar and copy-editing basics• Knowledge of how to interpret and use digital metrics is a plus• Knowledge of SEO best practices is a plus• Ability to write in both broadcast and AP style is a plus.• Ability to work flexible shift, including holidays, mornings, evenings, and weekends as news warrantsBenefitsTEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families.
