Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for preparing payroll for our office in the United States ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. The payroll specialist will work within the busy payroll department and be involved with the processing of biweekly payroll. This individual will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and other departments to operate and maintain seamless payroll operations.


Responsibilities
  • Calculate and process employee wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions accurately.
  • Verify timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies as needed with managers.
  • Process new hires, terminations, and changes to employee payroll information.
  • Ensure employees are set up for accurate payroll tax withholdings and process amendments as needed.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Generate payroll reports for management review and analysis.
  • Assist in year-end payroll activities, including W-2 and T4 processing and reporting.
  • Provide support during payroll audits and assist in preparing documentation as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve payroll processes and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to payroll activities.
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees and internal/external business partners.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and taxes at local, state, federal, and international levels.
  • Prepare and submit monthly pension/401k files to our pension provider.


Qualifications
  • 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • UKG experience preferred. 
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills. 
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic. 
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in MS excel.
