Responsibilities:
What You'll Do

The Switchboard Operator is an integral part of the Hillcrest Hospital South team. The primary purpose of the Switchboard Operator is to efficiently handle multiple incoming telephone calls at once, while exhibiting excellent customer service skills

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Demonstrating knowledge of the complete operation of switchboards and follows opening and closing procedures according to site-specific policies
  • Handling and routes telephone calls to the appropriate department or team member
  • Answering switchboard and pages overhead, greets and directs people to the appropriate area or departments
  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment of customer service, quality and care with every internal and external customer
Qualifications:
What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent
  • At least one (1) year previous experience within a hospital or healthcare facility preferred, but not required
  • Ability to demonstrate a basic knowledge level of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), and have the ability to learn other company specific computer applications as needed
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with a high sensitivity to the needs of others
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, administrators, patients, families, physicians, volunteers, etc.
  • Be willing and able to maintain professional standards of practice and adhere to Hillcrest’s Code of Conduct policies at all times
