Mobility Drive Test + RF1 Engineer

Overview

TeleWorld Solutions is seeking a Mobility Drive Test + RF1 Engineer to support wireless network validation, optimization, and troubleshooting in live environments. This hybrid role requires hands-on experience with drive test tools for LTE and 5G networks, and the ability to assist with RF data analysis, initial troubleshooting, and report preparation.

 

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of RF KPIs, drive test protocols, and a strong attention to detail. This is a travel-based field role with opportunities to grow into higher-level RF engineering or optimization positions.

Responsibilities

📡 Drive Testing (DT):

  • Perform mobility and stationary drive tests using tools like TEMS, XCAL, or Nemo
  • Validate key RF metrics: RSRP, RSRQ, SINR, PCI, CQI, and throughput
  • Identify and log network issues such as handover failures, dropped calls, or coverage gaps
  • Execute defined test cases: E911, FTP Upload/Download, Streaming, VoLTE/VoNR call testing

📊 RF1 Engineering Support:

  • Download, organize, and deliver log files to RF optimization and performance teams
  • Use post-processing tools (e.g., Actix, Windcatcher, QXDM) to flag network anomalies
  • Assist RF Engineers in basic troubleshooting, site validation, and cluster testing
  • Support cell site verification tasks, such as PCI/Azimuth confirmation and neighbor analysis

📝 Reporting & Documentation:

  • Create and maintain daily reports, including test results, anomalies, and coverage notes
  • Ensure all logs are correctly labeled and submitted per project guidelines
  • Participate in status calls, providing updates on progress, issues, and resolutions

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1–3 years of experience in wireless drive testing or RF engineering support
  • Familiarity with LTE/5G RF principles, test scenarios, and metrics
  • Proficiency with TEMS, Nemo, XCAL, or similar test tools
  • Working knowledge of post-processing tools: Actix, Windcatcher, MapInfo, etc.
  • Ability to travel up to 75–100%, including weekends and nights as required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Strong documentation, communication, and time management skills

Preferred:

  • Prior experience working on projects for major U.S. carriers (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T)
  • Familiarity with VoLTE, VoNR, 5G DSS, or CBRS testing
  • Basic understanding of RF optimization or network troubleshooting
  • Experience with tools like Google Earth, Excel macros, or basic Python scripting for log management

Tools & Technologies

  • Drive Test Tools: TEMS Investigation, XCAL, Nemo Outdoor
  • Post-Processing: Actix, Windcatcher, QXDM
  • Test Devices: Samsung Galaxy, Pixel, or test SIM-equipped modems
  • Software: Excel, Google Drive, SharePoint, Tableau (a plus)

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and install test gear (up to 30 lbs)
  • Willingness to drive for extended hours
  • Comfortable working in vehicle-based or on-site test environments
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights/weekends when required
