Overview:
As part of a mission centric, locally delivered and nationally powered organization this role serves to drive volunteer engagement for regionsin the . This role is responsible for building a volunteer workforce that builds capacity allowing LLS to drive more dollars to mission. Relentlessly pursuing cancer cures.

This role supports our West Territory, and candidate must reside in one of the following states: California, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, or Colorado.
Additional Position Information: . Responsibilities:

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Coach, model, and train key staff in assigned territory, shared services and mission on volunteer strategies and programs
  • Collaborate with LLS teams to develop training and outreach to the field, shared services, mission, and campaign teams. Create and deliver trainings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Territory leadership to coach staff performance against volunteer standards and execution of the strategic roadmap
  • Collaborate with Territory leadership to hire talented high impact teams
  • Accountability for follow through of both internal and external deliverables
Mission Integration
  • Accountable for driving Mission and DEI initiatives forward through Volunteer programs throughout the organization including the Board of Trustees and impact volunteers in each Region
  • Partner with Education Services and Health Research department to effectively communicate the LLS overall mission, programs, resources, and priorities.
  • Responsible for ensuring assigned markets deliver mission centered, high impact activities through volunteers
Strategic Planning
  • On-going, highly comprehensive, and innovative strategic planning for Board of Trustees in the Regions, including DEI and best in class standards that will ensure revenue and mission goals are achieved
  • Collaborate with key stake holders in the development and delivery of training materials including both virtual and in person meetings, onboarding, and continued staff development.
  • Stay current and ahead of volunteer engagement trends in the marketplace including understanding what nonprofits are doing to engage volunteers as well as what companies are looking for in volunteer opportunities.
  • Lead volunteer strategy and develop tools for turn-key organization execution
  • Actively and thoroughly examine leadership trends for opportunities and threats to ensure sustained year over year volunteer growth and engagement
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Nonprofit Management, Volunteer Management, or related field
  • 6-8 years of experience
  • Certification in Volunteer Administration (CVA) preferred
Position Requirements:
  • Demonstrated high level of experience in volunteer engagement or volunteer management
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Position requires a minimum of 30% travel
  • Physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
  • Work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
  • Average salary range is $77k-$110K, open to further discussion based on geography.
