We are looking for a Turbine Engine Test Technician to add to the Houston Service Center ’s Test Cell team on 2nd Shift.
As a Test Technician you will be performing complete mechanical and operational acceptance tests and associated troubleshooting of repaired Aeroderivative Gas Turbine engines. You will also be performing engine installation into cell, assuring completeness and correctness of test instrumentation and support equipment, and perform component replacements as needed. Finally, you will be performing both pre and post-test activities such as full engine borescope testing, final engine quality inspections, and shipping Aero Alliance’s customers.

Perform testing and associated troubleshooting of Aero-derivative Gas Turbines during test

Use Woodward/GE control system and software monitoring tools effectively for preparing, running and associated troubleshooting of engines/packages during test, meeting Aero Alliance quality and delivery standards

Perform complete mechanical and operational acceptance test on all engine/package models. Adjust engine controls, such as mapping for emissions, and equipment as needed, to accomplish successful testing

Use appropriate calculators to estimate performance, thrust balance orifice sizes etc. to determine if engine meets test acceptance criteria

Accurately understand and interpret test data to accept or reject engines and packages based on test requirements

Perform engine and package problem diagnosis and take corrective action on engines, packages, or components causing test failures

Complete necessary forms and log sheets, as assigned, neatly, accurately, and legibly

Operate and maintain package support systems and equipment such as load banks, starter skids, gas compressors and emissions monitoring system

Perform special tests as needed

Maintain facilities, materials, and work areas orderly by exercising good housekeeping practice

Work individually and in teams to support continuous improvement projects and Lean action work-outs

Work with other technicians to ensure customer requirements and timelines are met.

Conform to all safety and quality requirements and compliance with current policies.
