Testing Mathematics Scribe (Part-Time Temporary)

Position Description

This position is responsible for listening and taking notes on all pertinent information dictated by students in a mathematics testing situation.

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.

  • Writes or types clear, accurate, and legible notes including a full account of information conveyed when student is testing where it is necessary to make notes

  • Provides notes to student in response to dictation within testing timeframe to meet their needs

  • Marks important points of the student’s answers underlining and in bold if requested

  • Notes any and all abbreviations, symbols, formulas, etc. accurately upon dictation
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated excellent customer service skills

Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others

Ability to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently

Demonstrates good organizational skills

Intermediate skills with MS Office products and computer skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability and willingness to be trained in the conversion of text using technology

Ability to be professional and maintain confidentiality

Ability to take notes from student dictation in a concise, organized and legible manner

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Exposure to higher level math
