Job Summary: We are on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Account Manager / Tax Specialist to join our dynamic team. You’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional services, managing client relationships, and providing valuable financial insights. This role is the perfect blend of accounting, finance, operations, and tax. You’ll be a key player, ensuring our clients receive top-tier service while collaborating with our internal team on a variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Account Manager:

Tech Savvy: Know your way around:

  • QuickBooks Online
  • Xero
  • Bill.com
  • Gusto/ADP
  • Avalara
  • ChatGPT (Yes, we’re fancy like that)
  • Connection Tech (Zapier, Synder, SaaSANT) – a plus!

Mentorship: Manage and mentor junior staff, because we’re all about growth.

Client Relationships: Be the trusted advisor, the first line of offense (and sometimes defense) for our clients. You will be handling a small volume of clients with large aspirations. Your job is to ensure that every client is getting what they want out of our team ongoing.

Ongoing Operational Tasks:

  • Month-End Close Process
  • Bill Payment Approvals
  • Process Documentation and Improvement (Tech is your best friend)
  • Tax Prep & Review – Sales Tax, Payroll Taxes, Franchise and Annual:
  • Review business clients' returns to be filed
  • Communicate amounts and simplify the process for our clients
  • Conduct tax planning and research when needed
  • Stay updated with tax laws.
  • Zoho ERP: Use it to maintain best-in-class communication.

Tax Duties:

  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations.
  • Conduct tax planning and research to optimize client tax situations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance for all clients.
  • Analyze and solve complex tax issues.
  • Provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Stay organized and detail-oriented.
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to build a book of business in our fast-growing company.
  • Learn from experienced team members while being flexible to do what’s best for clients.

  • Any other tax software? Bring it on!

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Eager to learn and innovate.
  • Experience working with small businesses.
  • Familiarity with multi-state tax filings.
  • CPA or EA preferred.

      5+ years of experience.

  • Previous experience managing or mentoring junior staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
