We live our values every day, demonstrating we CARE through our values, ESG initiatives and IDE journey.Our Commercial Lines Actuarial team is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our growing team in Worcester, MA Corporate Headquarters, or remote work location.POSITION OVERVIEW:This role within the Commercial Lines Actuarial department will have responsibility for the Workers' Compensation (WC) line of business for Small Commercial and Middle Market. This role will report to the Actuarial Director of WC Pricing. The WC book has $400 million in annual earned premium and is one of the fastest growing core lines.This role will have ratemaking responsibilities such as loss trend analysis, loss ratio projections, and rate indications. Additionally, this role will be involved with several state rate revisions, forecasting IBNR, and leveraging predictive analytics to implement and monitor a new pricing platform. This role requires effective communication skills as there will be a high level of collaboration with the business (State Management, Underwriting, field leadership etc.).IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:• Assist in updating actuarial rate indications and actuarial assumption updates• Effectively communicate technical analyses to business partners and upper management• Lead annual WC rate revision analysis, filings, and objection management• Monitor and analyze profitability and provide thoughtful recommendations to business partners• Analyze book, collaborate with field leadership to understand relevant activities and trends• Collaborate with other Commercial Lines pricing teams in all lines rate reviews and other across-lines projects• Incorporate industry and other external benchmarks into analysis• Build efficiencies and improvements into existing processesWHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant technical field• 1-3 Years of experience in an actuarial discipline such as pricing, reserving, or advanced analytics• At least one passed actuarial exams and actively pursuing their P&C actuarial credentials• Excellent communication skills• Proficient using Microsoft Office, including Excel• Relevant experience with coding in SQL, R, or VBA• Project organization and time management skills to balance conflicting priorities• The ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences• Able to apply and interpret company policies and proceduresCAREER DEVELOPMENT:It's not just a job, it's a career, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
