This position fills a critical need as an Associate Agile Product Owner supporting data and reporting for the Customer Experience Platform program / Amazon Connect. This position reports to the Director of Agile Product Management for Ops Data within the Customer Data Ecosystem (CDE) Agile Release Train (ART).

The APO is a vital role that is responsible for creating and maximizing the value of numerous capabilities through strategic and tactical product decisions. The APO sets the priorities for the agile team, represents the voice of the customer, and links execution to the business vision. The position partners with various business teams including Ops leadership, Transformation and Optimization (formerly Strategy and Optimization) Continuous Improvement teams, Digital Adoption, Performance Analytics, Data Science, Contact Center Enablement, Workforce Management, and Enterprise Data Services. The APO is primarily an individual contributor role responsible for delivering business value for the Operations space.

The Associate Agile Product Owner works daily with the Agile Product Manager, business leaders, subject matter experts, and our technical teams. This position is a great opportunity to work with an excellent team while learning new skills and applying existing experience and knowledge.

To be successful in this role, the individual needs to have a high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and ownership. This role requires a high performing individual who is a thought leader, strong communicator, able to balance multiple responsibilities, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders. Passion for customer experience and bias for data-driven insight to guide decisions and actions are crucial. 

WORK ARRANGEMENTS: This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement.  Candidates who live near one of our offices will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

RESPONSIBILTIES:


• Lead product execution for the agile team
• Engage with business and technology stakeholders to identify product enhancement opportunities and implications
• Develop a working understanding of “voice of the customer,” "voice of the business" 
• Develop understanding of portfolio vision and roadmap exercises to then provide input
• Articulate the product vision, roadmap, and voice of customer to the agile team
• Guide the agile team in determining sprint goals aligned to the product vision and roadmap, linking execution activities to business goals
• Manage the team's product backlog, breaking down features into stories, defining acceptance criteria, and prioritizing to maximize business value
• Accountable for the health, readiness, and prioritization of the team backlog
• Ensure the agile team understands the items in the backlog and their business value
• Assist other agile team members and ensure the team break down, prioritizes and completes work from agile team product backlog and in adherence to acceptance criteria
• Obtain input and agreement from subject matter experts and stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle, from prioritization through completion
• Accept completed stories that meet the “definition of done” and quality expectations
• Validate that the solution and functionality meet the product vision; incorporate feedback from sprint demos
• Ensure input from the Scrum Master, agile teams, Architects, APMs, Tech Leads, Delivery Leads, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions will deliver the business vision and value
• Partner with Delivery Lead to understand the most effective way to leverage the skills and talents of all team members to deliver the most business value to stakeholders
• Create an inclusive and collaborative team environment where team members can bring creative and innovative ideas to the table as well as surface concerns and risks
• Partner with stakeholders to drive business readiness and change management activities
• Monitor and share execution progress including risks and impediments
• Analyze delivery metrics to identify key trends and opportunities for continuous improvement within the agile team
• Influence key members of agile team

QUALIFICATIONS:


• Strong leadership skills, with prior leadership experience highly preferred – demonstrates all key behaviors consistently; ability to lead through projects, influence stakeholders on system solutions and/or drive recommendations, deliver on strategic agenda, and share best practices across the ART
• Exceptional relationship management, collaboration, and influencing skills; interact effectively at all levels of the organization and across multiple business areas, manage multiple stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand audiences and tailor messages to varying levels of leadership
• Operates with sense of urgency and customer focus; builds strong partnerships across various functional areas. Builds credibility and confidence with customers.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to connect the dots and solve business problems; adept at breaking down complex processes and/or data into simple terms
• Proficient with analyzing data to identify insights and create hypotheses for testing
• Clear preference for working collaboratively in an inclusive team environment is essential
• Self-motivated, highly organized, curious individual with ability to handle multiple high priority demands, manage expectations, and achieve objectives
• Demonstrated capability and experience in leading cross-functional teams and projects
• Strong time management skills and proven ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize in a complex environment
• Operates with integrity – fosters confidence and credibility with a quality output
• Minimum of two years of experience in Agile product owner or related role, digital, technology, analytics, or related field
• Experience in the insurance industry required
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and frameworks such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.
• Experience with agile lifecycle management tools (e.g., Rally, JIRA)
• Experience with Tableau and ThoughtSpot
• Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams
• Experience with ADKAR or other change management frameworks

• This position requires limited travel.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$84,640 - $126,960
