ABOUT THE SPRINGHILL COMPANY:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The SpringHill Company is seeking a dynamic Design Director to join the team at our brand consultancy, Robot. Hardwired with the SpringHill mission of empowerment, Robot is programmed to extend it to our partners through advertising and marketing support that spans campaigns, content, social, PR and experiences, both physical and virtual. The successful candidate is culturally involved, strategically minded, and can think both conceptually and visually to further enhance Robot design elements. In this role, the candidate will lead design concepting and create compelling on-brand graphics across a variety of mediums including digital, TV, print, and apparel. You will collaborate closely with our team of Creative Directors, Strategists, Art Directors, Designers, and Writers to concept, design and execute culturally relevant works that resonate with our creative vision. The candidate will lead brainstorming, concepting, and design execution across Robot brand properties and partner brands. Success in this role requires a culturally connected self-starter with impeccable craft, strong time management skills, and experience mentoring mid and junior level designers. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a high level of taste and aesthetic sense.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Creative Director to lead visual design and scalable creative concepting across a variety of projects including: brand logos, guidelines, and toolkits; TV graphic packages; digital and social media content; print and packaging; merchandise; and presentations
  • Collaborate with Art directors conceptualizing design work at the highest level
  • Create design systems that have a strong conceptual foundation
  • Ensure that the design thinking applied to arrive at a solution is translated and communicated throughout different teams by following a strong process that all team members can understand
  • Exhibit leadership in communicating design thinking. Be informed and transmit design trends that contribute to improve and be at the top of the design game for all the company businesses
  • Ensure brand guidelines and strict quality standards are consistent throughout all design work
  • Research, prepare, and present ideas to creative team, internal stakeholders, and external brand partners
  • Prepare design files for delivery, ensuring all deliverables are on time and carefully exported to output specifications
  • Support project team in understanding opportunities and limitations in media limitations as it pertains to design
  • Work dynamically with project team to identify design needs, inform timelines, and input on resourcing
  • Enforce the integrity of the design process, and ensure that all work meets a high level of creativity, innovation and brand association
  • Participate in team brainstorms and creative team pin-ups
  • Help to grow the creative team by mentoring junior/senior designers, providing guidance and feedback
  • Keep up with the latest cultural and industry trends and best practices in design
  • Foster a positive relationship with the creative community
  • Research, recommend and support team in outreach to creative partners and Collaborators


Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Exceptional visual design and graphic skills.
  • A portfolio of recent design work is required for consideration
  • Experience in digital and print design
  • Ability to multitask and handle several creative projects simultaneously
  • Critical thinking, creative problem solving, and excellent communication skills are a must
  • Ability to lead client presentations and meetings, and drive overall design for branded projects
  • Proactive, team player with the ability to work in a fast paced work environment
  • Can easily adapt to new challenges and think out of the box
  • Must have experience leading teams in a creative studio, or in the worlds of marketing, entertainment, music, art, fashion or sports industries
  • Bachelor’s degree or art school degree
  • Fluent in Adobe creative tools, Google Slides, and Keynote


$175,000 - $190,000 a year
