HOURS: All TSP Summer Interns are required to work core hours of 11am - 3pm EST, Monday - Friday.

Position Summary:
The goal of the Internship Program is to provide a well-rounded experience for interns that provides an opportunity to see the impact of your work. We are committed to setting interns up for success by providing training opportunities where you develop a well-rounded set of hard & soft skills. As an intern, you will gain valuable educational experience in politics and policy at the state legislative level, and will be provided with opportunities to make connections with past cohorts and partners to support the development of your career. This summer, we are looking for an intern to gain experience with the following team:
Operations Team: This team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth internal functioning of The States Project by focusing on two key areas: People & Culture (HR) and Finance & Administration. The Operations team plays a vital role in supporting the organization's values and ensuring the well-being of its staff. It also manages the organization's finances, technology and other resources to support its mission and ensure its sustainability. The intern on this team would gain the opportunity to learn firsthand about the internal operations of a remote organization focused on politics and policy. Pursuit of a degree in business, IT, finance, accounting or related fields is highly preferred for the intern on this team.
What We Offer:
Interns are paid $22 per hour worked, and accrue paid time off in accordance with our employee handbook and applicable state and local laws. We will work with you to help you obtain school credit where applicable. All internship opportunities will be remote. Interns are expected to commit up to 20 hours per week (generally during standard U.S. business hours) from June 13th, 2024 through August 30th, 2024.
What You Can Expect During the Recruitment and Hiring Process:
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Selected applicants will be moved forward to phone screening. The next step is a virtual team interview, accompanied by a written exercise.
