Creates invitations. Selects sites. Creates seating arrangements. Negotiates with florist, caterers, event space staff, print shops, etc. Manages on-site contract staff, students, and etc.Additional Department Summary: The Alabama Mobility and Power (AMP) Center, a pioneering public-private partnership between The University of Alabama, Alabama Power Company, and Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc., is on a mission to drive research and workforce development for the expanding electric vehicle market. Through strategic partnerships and cutting-edge research, the AMP Center is poised to lead the charge in the future of sustainable mobility.Reporting to the AMP Consortium Development Manager, The Event Coordinator will support the development and execution of digital marketing strategies and organize successful events that enhance our brand presence and engage our target audience. This position will work closely with various departments to ensure cohesive and effective marketing efforts and event planning. In addition, this position will be expected to complete various tasks at the discretion of the AMP Consortium Development Manager.Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and some event planning or coordination experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of event planning or coordination experience; OR high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of event planning or coordination experience.Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictionsSkills and Knowledge: Proven track record of successfully supporting digital marketing campaigns and organizing events. Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, SEO, PPC, and content management systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a start-up environment.
