Are you passionate about clean energy and eager to dive into the fascinating world of magnet engineering? Thea Energy, based in Kearny, NJ, is looking for a Magnet Engineering Intern for the summer of 2025! You’ll be part of a trailblazing team that’s reinventing the stellarator, utilizing groundbreaking advancements in stellarator physics to make fusion energy a reality. As a Magnet Engineering Intern, your role will be pivotal in supporting the design, building, and testing of our custom high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets. Your tasks will include developing designs for magnet components, conducting finite element analysis (FEA) simulations, and operating cryogenic test equipment to assess magnet performance. You’ll also have the chance to create analytical tools that help us refine our designs and improve our technologies. This internship not only offers invaluable hands-on experience in a cutting-edge field but also allows you to contribute to a sustainable future by aiding our mission to create zero-emission energy. If you're pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another STEM discipline, and possess a strong desire to learn and tackle challenges head-on, we’d love to hear from you!
