In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and evaluate enforcement opportunities, support strategic IP asset development, and assess and mitigate risks associated with innovative new products. You will also play a vital role in discerning insights regarding competitive portfolio positioning. This position is crucial to enhancing protection for our company’s $500M R&D investment in electron microscopes, mass spectrometers, and similar technologies. Reporting to the Senior Director of IP Strategy, you will collaborate with VPs and Senior R&D Leaders to determine IP strategy, drive innovation collection, and manage risk.Key Responsibilities:• Apply technical and legal expertise to analyze company and competitor technical information and advance our strategic IP positions by translating high-level strategy into sustainable and actionable IP programs.• Integrate multiple streams of legal and business metrics and related information to present actionable data-driven IP landscapes.• Collaboratively work with the IP team to continually improve the IP department's practices in competitor portfolio evaluation and strategic development of the portfolio.• Mentor earlier career team members in risk analysis techniques and dispute evaluation methods.Preferred Qualifications:• Member in good-standing of a US State bar with 7+ years of experience in IP disputes.• Practical experience with, or an advanced degree in a scientific or engineering field, ideally involving physics, chemistry, and/or biochemistry.
