Senior DevOps Engineer

We’re TheyDo, a fully remote SaaS B2B organisation, pioneering a groundbreaking software category – Customer Journey Management.

In December 2022, we secured a €12M Series A funding round, with angel investment from industry giants Intercom, Miro, and Calendly. We support and partner with renowned enterprise organisations such as IBM, Adidas, and Cisco, helping them navigate the intricate landscape of customer journey mapping.

We kicked off 2024 with a global team of 65 TheyDoers, representing over 30 nationalities across 20 countries, though this marks just the beginning.

Join our exciting journey as we scale to over 100 by the end of this year!

You’ll be maintaining and expanding a B2B SaaS platform used by customers worldwide. Your SRE responsibilities include ensuring a fast response to incidents or preventing them through observability, setting up a secure and compliant cloud environment, configuring backup and rollback scenarios, and working on metrics like latency, traffic, error rate, and saturation. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in actively collaborating on the technical implementation and maintenance of our ISO 27001 compliance.

You will be an integral part of our technical roadmap, supporting the anticipation of increased traffic to TheyDo. Your focus will be on optimising processes and implementing technologies to fortify our infrastructure and enhance overall system reliability.

Areas you will be making an impact in the short-term:

  • Maintain and improve our infrastructure-as-code

  • Establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs)

  • Give workshops to fellow engineers on our infrastructure

  • Implement and maintain reliable and performant DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines

  • Prepare and automate Disaster Recovery (DR) tests and fire drills

We’re looking for

You like to get things right, a pragmatic perfectionist who will continuously shape our infrastructure and make it ready to scale

Desired skills and experience include:

  • Experienced in setting up modern CI/CD processes

  • Solid experience with AWS, IaC, Docker, container orchestration (e.g. ECS, or K8s), cloud native technologies, Postgres

  • Someone who likes optimizing and automating processes

  • An engineer who wants to be at the foundation of a fast-growing team

  • An asynchronous worker who organizes and documents their work

  • Skills as a hybrid engineer and comfortable with JavaScript and Python are not required but convenient

  • Preferably has previously experienced exponential growth at a remote startup

  • Professional development reimbursement - we value learning and are happy to support you with books/conferences/courses that will benefit you in your role

  • Mental health/wellness reimbursement - we’ll support you in looking after your body/mind (meditation, mindfulness, or a yoga/gym membership)

  • Paid parental leave - we'll provide financial support and time off for you to bond with the newest little members of your family (6 months for the primary carer, and 6 weeks for the secondary carer - fully paid)

  • Home office or co-working support - we offer everyone the choice of home office reimbursement or co-working support

  • Latest tech & tools - Macbook Air, Pro or laptop, we want you to have the equipment that you’re most comfortable with. We use tools such as Gather, Slack, Notion, Loom, and G:Suite to work collaboratively and asynchronously

  • Continuous growth of our benefits package as we continue to grow in size
