To support our growing customer base and engineering team, we are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer at TheyDo. In this role, you will collaborate closely with product engineers and QA teams to enhance our overall system reliability and developer experience.
Your responsibilities will include managing infrastructure resources, fortifying security measures, optimising system performance, elevating observability across the stack and empowering engineers to deliver efficiently and confidently. This includes facilitating seamless development workflows, improving deployment processes, and ensuring a robust, reliable system. Together, we aim to build a resilient and performant infrastructure, fostering a collaborative environment that allows for continuous improvement and innovation.

Your primary mission at TheyDo will be to ensure a frictionless developer experience for our team by setting up best-in-class infrastructure and tooling. As an individual contributor, you will closely collaborate with your fellow engineers to streamline and enhance our work.
You’ll be maintaining and expanding a B2B SaaS platform used by customers worldwide. Your SRE responsibilities include ensuring a fast response to incidents or preventing them through observability, setting up a secure and compliant cloud environment, configuring backup and rollback scenarios, and working on metrics like latency, traffic, error rate, and saturation. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in actively collaborating on the technical implementation and maintenance of our ISO 27001 compliance.
You will be an integral part of our technical roadmap, supporting the anticipation of increased traffic to TheyDo. Your focus will be on optimising processes and implementing technologies to fortify our infrastructure and enhance overall system reliability.
Areas you will be making an impact in the short-term:
Maintain and improve our infrastructure-as-code
Automate the set up feature environments
Minimize the time from commit to production
Establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
Give workshops to fellow engineers on our infrastructure
Implement and maintain reliable and performant DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines
Prepare and automate Disaster Recovery (DR) tests and fire drills
You like to get things right, a pragmatic perfectionist who will continuously shape our infrastructure and make it ready to scale
Desired skills and experience include:
Experienced in setting up modern CI/CD processes
Solid experience with AWS, IaC, Docker, container orchestration (e.g. ECS, or K8s), cloud native technologies, Postgres
Someone who likes optimizing and automating processes
An engineer who wants to be at the foundation of a fast-growing team
An asynchronous worker who organizes and documents their work
Skills as a hybrid engineer and comfortable with JavaScript and Python are not required but convenient
Preferably has previously experienced exponential growth at a remote startup
