About the role:
Reporting to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic assists with the upkeep of our facility and equipment in our Vacaville, CA, food manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate can assemble, inspect, install, and test current and new equipment to ensure operational proficiency in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do:- Ensure production lines and machines are set up for operations continually
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance, service, and testing for all equipment
- Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual and sound inspections
- Read, interpret, and follow equipment operation manual instructions
- Collaborate with management and other team members to ensure operational efficiency at all times
- Maintain documentation of work performed, including PMs and work orders
- Follow industry best practices, company SOPs, LOTO, and all other safety protocols/procedures
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot equipment failures
- Repair racks and work tables as needed
- Performs a variety of tasks related to building maintenance and repairs requiring advanced mechanical skills
- Operates, repairs, and maintains refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, expansion valves, stop valves, and float valves, in addition to all refrigerant lines and devices utilized in the control of temperatures
- Operates, repairs, and maintains all types of motors and engines used to power pumps, compressors and fans
- Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual and sound inspections
- Perform other job tasks as assigned
What You'll Bring:- High school diploma or equivalent; Successful trade or vocational school completion
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in two or more of the trades (Electrical, plumbing, mechanical, welding, HVAC, facilities)
- Minimum 2+ years experience as a maintenance mechanic or similar role
- Valid driver's license
- Forklift experience preferred but not required
- Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience
- Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Welding experience preferred
- Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for an extended period of time
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills; know when to elevate issues to management
- Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
- Solid time-management, multitasking, and organizational skills
- Able to work collaboratively with different teams throughout the facility
- The ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects up to 50 pounds.
$28 - $32 an hour
The starting hourly rate for this position is $28.00 out of the pay band range of $28.00 - $32.00 and represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of the posting.
