We support a diverse range of clients from top school districts across North America to Fortune 500 companies and Public Sector innovators. We’re also winners of Quartz’s Best Companies for Remote Workers and Canada’s Top Growing Companies.  Join us on our journey to accelerate change for good through inclusive problem solving!

We are looking for a Product Strategist who will be responsible for developing our product strategy in our target markets, assessing our product performance, and developing long-term strategic plans for future product lines.  A significant component is developing use cases using both a “top-down” market research approach as well as “bottom-up” proof of concept trials with customers. Reporting to the VP of Product, this role will work closely with our product team, product marketing, customer-facing teams, and other key stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:
  • Strategy development: Collaborating with stakeholders to define product vision, goals, and strategies aligned with the company’s objectives. This involves conducting market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation to identify opportunities and prioritize product initiatives.
  • Product roadmap planning: Creating and maintaining a product roadmap that outlines the product’s short-term and long-term goals, features, and enhancements. The roadmap should consider market dynamics, customer feedback, technical feasibility, and business objectives.
  • Market and customer research: Conduct thorough research to gain insights into market trends, customer preferences, and competitive products. This includes analyzing data, conducting user surveys or interviews, and monitoring industry developments to inform product decisions.
  • Collaboration with Product Marketing: Collaborating with marketing teams to define product pricing, packaging and positioning, target audience, and critical messages. Ensuring the product’s value proposition communicates to customers through various marketing channels.
  • Collaboration with customer-facing teams: Working closely with leadership and team members of sales and customer success to ensure customer feedback is heard and acted upon.
  • Collaboration with development teams: Working closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to define product requirements, prioritize feature development, and ensure timely and successful product launches. Facilitating effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Performance analysis: Monitoring product performance, including key metrics such as user engagement, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction. Analyzing data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations to optimize product strategies.

What We Think Is True About You:
  • Minimum 8 years of product management experience for a product company (ideally B2B SaaS) or equivalent experience in similar roles (tech consulting, solution consulting, product marketing)
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in user research, workflows, information architecture, and visual design
  • Strong technical abilities and familiarity with modern software development practices used to build and deploy web and mobile applications
  • Ability to lead collaborative design process with product pods (design, product managers, and developers)

The hiring range for this role is $116,000-$136,000 CAD. Your specific compensation within this range is determined based on your job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and our internal equity assessment.

If you don’t see yourself fully reflected in every job requirement listed on the posting above, we still encourage you to reach out, apply and tell us more about yourself in your application. Research has shown that women and underrepresented groups often only apply when they feel 100% qualified. We are committed to creating a more equitable, inclusive and diverse company and we strongly encourage applicants of all genders, ages, ethnicities, cultures, abilities, sexual orientations, and life experiences to apply.

ThoughtExchange welcomes applications from people with disabilities. Support is available upon request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process. Finally, we know from time to time, emergencies happen, and you may need to reschedule an interview - we understand and encourage you to be in communication without worrying about losing the opportunity or your credibility.
