THE ROLE
The Human Resource Manager at our Fulfillment Center in Hanover, PA plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive HR support and fostering strategic partnerships within the operation. Collaborating closely with the Site Director, this role actively embodies our organizational values, drives tangible business outcomes, and champions a culture of inclusivity and compliance. Through proactive leadership and hands-on involvement, the Senior Human Resource Manager ensures the development and maintenance of a positive, diverse, and legally compliant work environment. This position reports to Thrive Market’s Director of People Operations, Fulfillment.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversee day-to-day HR operations in a Fulfillment Center environment with approximately 250-300 employees and temporary staff.
- Ensure strict adherence to wage and hour regulations, workers' compensation protocols, leave administration policies, and disciplinary procedures.
- Uphold policies of Thrive Market, cultivating a safe, productive, and inclusive atmosphere for all team members.
- Foster robust employee relations across the facility, serving as a trusted advocate, advisor, and mediator for all employees.
- Lead the workers' compensation process, ensuring swift and fair resolution of claims.
- Oversee onboarding processes and manage benefits enrollment procedures.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to conflict resolution and the ability to navigate competing priorities effectively.
- Exhibit discretion, integrity, and fairness in all interactions and decision-making processes.
- Act as a strategic business partner to the Site Director, aligning HR initiatives with operational goals and growth strategies.
- Independently manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition to create a best-in-class hiring experience and have ownership over weekly and hiring goals
- Develop and implement retention strategies to maintain a stable workforce, including initiatives for employee engagement, recognition programs, career development opportunities, and feedback mechanisms to understand and improve employee satisfaction and retention rates.
- Lead the launch and evolution of HR practices within the last-mile delivery function, and provide support for operational success.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English)
- 6+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on leadership roles
- 3+ years of experience in HR management, ideally within a 365/24/7 warehouse, fulfillment center, or manufacturing setting
- Ability to cover different shifts to support a 24/7 operation
- Ability to travel to support micro-distribution centers in the PA, NJ, NY area
- Experience working with employee populations of 400+ predominantly non-exempt staff
- Thorough understanding of state and federal wage and hour regulations, performance management, employee engagement, and leave administration
- Proficiency with multiple HRIS systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive actionable insights from data analysis
- Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to build rapport and foster relationships across all organizational levels.
