Data Center Security Operations Specialist

ResponsibilitiesAbout the Team The infrastructure team supports the company's fast growth by building and operating hyperscale data centers, managing the life cycle of server fleet, providing cloud solutions, and developing various infrastructure services to ensure scalability and reliability. This role will specifically focus on assisting the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Security Operations (SecOps) teams within our infrastructure. Security operations specialists are an essential part of the successful management of data center physical security program. Security Operations Specialist (SOS) are dynamic team members that have a deep understanding of the security program by being well versed in physical security systems and understanding of established operational security practices. Responsibilities SOS must be able to leverage their understanding of security systems to manage alarms, providing Tier 1 level remote support and at times leverage their knowledge of operational security requirements to support Data Center Operations. Operational Support: - Work in customer’s leased or owned Data centers, Customer operated Warehouse spaces, and other areas as designated, providing on site Security support. - Hands-on involvement for assigned data center activities such as: conducting daily site walks, diagnosing security hardware issues and reporting findings for immediate escalation. - Conduct inspections via provided forms of Critical spaces within the Data Center, including Data Halls, Storage Rooms, loading docs, and other areas as assigned. - Support security & safety incidents as a first responder, documenting findings and providing written reports. - Support high value/high priority rack moves and deployments, as a security overviewer. - Participates in the site safety compliance program by reporting violations. - Participating in physical audits for data center infrastructure. - Serve as primary responder for security related incidents at site. - Participate in developing site related processes & standard operating procedures (SOPs) - 100% onsite support with no remote work - Ability to work with multiple crossfunctional teams such as Data Center Operations, Logistics, Safety, etc. - Follow specific task instructions and provide necessary reporting. Monitoring and Surveillance: - Monitor live video feeds from surveillance cameras to detect and respond to security incidents. - Conduct regular reviews of recorded video footage for investigative purposes. - Observe and report any suspicious activities, unauthorized access, or safety hazards. Access Control: - Manage and control access to the premises using electronic access control systems. - Monitor and respond to alarms triggered by access control systems. - Verify the identity of individuals entering secure areas and ensure compliance with access protocols. Incident Response: - Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies. - Coordinate with on-site security personnel and law enforcement agencies as needed. - Provide real-time information and support to security teams during incidents. Communication and Reporting: - Maintain clear and effective communication with security personnel, management, and emergency responders. - Document all security incidents, responses, and actions taken in detailed incident reports. - Participate in regular briefings and debriefings to discuss security issues and improvements. System Management: - Ensure all security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control) are functioning properly. - Perform regular system checks and maintenance tasks. - Assist in the deployment and configuration of new security technologies and tools. Policy Compliance: - Adhere to organizational security policies, procedures, and protocols. - Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards. - Assist in developing and updating security procedures and guidelines.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications - Strong observational and situational awareness skills. - Excellent written and spoken communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. - Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and effectively. - Proficiency in using security monitoring and reporting tools. - Experience with physical security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems. - Working knowledge or experience operating in a Data Center environment and Valid driver's license, with reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications - 3 years security experience or comparable experience. - Trained or willing to be CPR certified. - Knowledge of Data center Safety and Security practices. - College degree or equivalent experience. - COLO experience desired. - Ability to flex schedule as needed, including ability to work weekends, nights, holidays, as needed. - Leadership and Team Management. - Lead and manage a diverse team of Security Operations Managers and Security Personnel within the designated area. - Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the security operations teams. - Experience with Incident Command Structure, specifically tier 1 responder. #LI-MZ3Job InformationAbout TikTokTikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video.
