Titmouse is looking for a Paralegal to join our Business & Legal Affairs Department. If you have at least 4 years of experience drafting and negotiating agreements in entertainment with specific expertise in animation production, this might be the role you're looking for! KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES- Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- A minimum of 4-6 years of experience working directly with animation studios, production companies and/or streamers.
- Familiarity with union and guild agreements relevant to the animation industry (e.g., The Animation Guild, The Editors Guild, SAG-AFTRA).
- Direct experience working with agents, managers, legal teams and Business Affairs/Legal Affairs at other studios.
- Strong understanding of entertainment law, with specific knowledge related to animation, intellectual property and contract law.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize work to meet goals or deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced creative environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Review, draft, and finalize contracts related to animation production, including talent agreements, production contracts, and license agreements with minimal oversight from attorneys.
- Conduct legal research on issues pertinent to entertainment law, including intellectual property rights, music licensing, copyright, and trademark matters, and provide detailed summaries and analyses.
- Coordinate with internal departments, external clients, agents, managers and other industry professionals to facilitate communication and document exchange.
- Prepare/participate in arbitrations and/or litigations, if any.
- Monitor and track important dates and deadlines related to contracts, intellectual property filings and other legal matters.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information in accordance with studio policies and legal requirements.
$110,000 - $125,000 a year
Salary will be commensurate with experience within the stated range.
Location: We are currently on a hybrid working schedule. This position is required to work onsite at our Hollywood studio on the same designated days as the rest of the team, currently Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Occasionally we work from the Burbank location
