RPG Programmer / IBMi Administrator

Evaluates, installs, develops, and configures bar code scanning hardware and software to feed into the ERP and EDI manufacturing floor production & inventory control databases. Develops processes for Supply chain management in the flow of goods through receiving, production, inventory, and shipping.  Supports end-users and system infrastructures at the manufacturing sites.  Does all administration on the IBM I (AS400) including install new software and does operating system Fixes and Upgrades of operating system levels.  Develops and maintains all Disaster recovery systems to ensure continued viability of the company in the event of disaster.


Duties
  • Install, maintain, and support scanning hardware & software for TRAM group manufacturing sites.
  • Create labels to manufacturing drawing specifications.
  • Install, maintain, and support label printing hardware & software for TRAM group manufacturing sites.
  • Maintain and support RFID equipment for TRAM group manufacturing sites.
  • Create, maintain, and support SQL statements and queries to assist TRAM group manufacturing sites with analysis of scanned data.
  • Document systems and processes. Train users as needed.
  • Administration of the IBMi (AS400)
  • Install software, updates, and operating system update to the IBM I (AS400)
  • Maintain and test disaster recovery system
  • Design, Develop, and maintain RPGLE programs to assist departments with Supply chain Management processes and customer requirements
  • Willingness to learn new ERP solutions in a MS SQL environment. 


Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related discipline 
  • 5+ years of IT experience
  • 5+ years of experience with scanning hardware and software, and label creation software.
  • IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) administration a plus.
  • Experience installing and maintaining software in a Windows environment.
  • Experience in MS SQL environment for report writing
  • Experience with label printing software, Bartender, a plus
  • Experience in PLEX ERP will be plus
