Tower Technician

Location: Elgin, IL

Tower Engineering Professionals is seeking a full-time employee for a Tower Technician in our Elgin, IL location. Tower Engineering Professionals offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and holidays, 401k with company match, and a relaxed, fun environment.

Responsibilities:

Field Duties (70- 80% of work time):

Must be able to travel up to two to three weeks at a time.
Must have a labor-intensive attitude and be capable of climbing towers, water tanks or rooftops.
Must have the physical ability and the willingness to scan, probe, dig and drill to obtain the foundation dimensions and steel reinforcement on guyed, SST and monopole towers.
Provide superior customer service while ensuring all essential job functions are performed in a timely, efficient, accurate, and safe manner.
Adhere to all company and industry standard/regulations (OSHA, COMTRAIN, etc.)

Office Duties (20- 30% of work time):

Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design requirements related to telecommunications, commercial, residential, and light industrial applications.
Conduct due diligence for multiple projects prior to field work.
Review peer work product.

Qualifications:

1 year general construction experience preferred; some cell tower industry experience highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
Good communication and interpersonal skills; self-starter, team player, and results oriented.
Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle.
