JOB TITLE: Senior Analyst – Capital Markets Transparency
HOURS: 37.5 hours/week, Hybrid working with 2 days per week on site
LOCATION: Central London Office. Some travel required.
REPORTING TO: Group Head of Capital Markets Transparency
GRADE: Senior Analyst - (8 Years Experience)
Tracker Group is a UK-based, not-for-profit think tank. Our aim is to enable a Paris-aligned, nature-positive global economy by aligning capital market actions with planetary boundaries. We are the home of the two award-winning research brands, Carbon Tracker and Planet Tracker, which together comprise Tracker Group combined under one corporate entity since 2022.
Together, we mobilise investors and corporates alike to intervene in the practices destroying our planet, working towards the necessary, fundamental changes in our world’s financial markets to respect the environmental boundaries we know our planet has.
The Capital Markets Transparency team builds upon Carbon Tracker’s research on financial risk by identifying the ways by which investors, regulators and policymakers can ensure that companies (and their auditors) are providing information around those risks to the market via financial reporting.
The team’s focus, more specifically, is on ensuring sufficient consistency and transparency in corporate reporting so that markets can price those risks into valuations. This includes assessing select company financial statements against the Climate Accounting and Audit Assessment for Climate Engagement Canada and Climate Action 100+ benchmarks, providing governance metrics for a sub-set of companies for the new TransitionArc platform, educating investors on the how to ensure they are receiving the information they need to engage and make capital allocation decisions, and engaging with accounting standard-setters, auditors, financial regulators and those who can influence their decision-making.
INTRODUCTION
Tracker Group is seeking a talented candidate to support the Head of the Capital Markets Transparency team in advancing research on the financial impacts of climate change through accounting, auditing, and disclosure. This role will help strengthen the team’s expertise and narrative, supporting Tracker Group’s mission. The focus is on assessing whether carbon-intensive companies provide adequate transparency on climate-related financial risks and whether auditors are properly challenging management assumptions. The role may also involve broader corporate reporting, policy work, and presenting findings to media and stakeholders
