Trading Analyst

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze, model, and report daily market risk for all NGL Trading activities: mark-to-market, exposure, position, and hedging
  • Coordinate and review daily deal volumes and pricing in RightAngle by performing deal verification, price validation, market curve updates, and data reconciliation
  • Work closely with Traders to quantify and explain the sources of risk in their portfolios; suggest and implement changes for risk mitigation
  • Build and manage trading models and reports to monitor and forecast market drivers with the goal of supporting Trading team: supply & demand, industry data, macro-economic modeling, etc.
  • Prepare presentations for management to explain and review risks and trading strategies
  • Proficient in NGL Market fundamentals and pricing structure to aid in support for all trading functions
  • Gather data, update, and distribute daily Downstream reports and dashboards: PetChem Economics, International Arb pricing, Domestic Pricing, NGL Pricing, Export volumes, and ad hoc reporting
  • Drive information and ideas to influence or support trading activities for physical and financial trading strategies
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required
  • Working experience with Excel and RightAngle is preferred
  • Thrives in a team environment with active communication
  • Ability to work independently on multiple, concurrent tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work across functional business groups to resolve discrepancies and implement solutions
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Skills appropriate for economic model development, analysis, and interpretation
  • Energy industry certifications
