Trainer - 2nd shift

THE ROLE:

  • This position will report to the: Supervisor
  • Travel Requirement: None
  • FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt.
  • Shift: 2nd shift.
  • Employment Category: Full-Time
  • Pay Range: $17.25 to $19.25

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Trainer will assist the Cello shift supervisor with training personnel and coordinating job functions in an effort to achieve optimum safety, efficiency and productivity.

  • Assist shift supervisor to direct, coordinate, and monitor cello employees within the assigned Masterpack area
  • Work with carrot handlers to maintain optimal bag quality and ensure proper sorting techniques
  • Works between scales monitoring quality and performing quality checks as needed
  • Assist in bag changes, monitor lines for any sizing issues (light & heavy), and overall quality of product
  • Assist production workers in carton/IFCO tray order forming
  • Check chlorine levels, monitor end of line for production loss, document unit changes for production
  • Assist supervisor in employee rotation
  • Communicate injuries, unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, and quality changes to Supervisor or Plant Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned


REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to apply common sense and good judgment
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take direction from supervision
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Basic mathematical and computer skills


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in food production/manufacturing facility
  • Prior working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA, USDA and EPA regulations
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Environmental exposure- cold/wet conditions (40 ° or below)
  • Material exposure-moving mechanical parts
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles and vibrations
  • Must be able to lift, slide and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time during work period
