Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions (includes but are not limited to):

Align with the Plant Manager/Production Manager on scheduling operators and training on a daily and weekly basis.

Determine where there are single points of failure in knowledge and expertise for running machines. (i.e., only one person on a shift knows how to run a specific machine) and prioritize the training schedule according to the highest risks.

Maintain list of SMEs for each machine and when they are available for providing training; update file folders for each Operator with their documented training sessions and certifications, including safety training.

Compile and update a listing of all tools necessary for operators to perform their job, such as measuring tools, calipers, templates, SOP sheets, troubleshooting guides, calculators, etc.; use this as reference and ensure Operators can access such reference.

Complete daily observations of all work areas to make sure prescribed tools are posted or available at each machine and that every operator can find them.

Submit requisitions for supplies, calibrate measurement tools, and update procedural documents if necessary.

Maintain a calendar of training dates for each machine and keep a signed attendance log for each training event.

Post the upcoming training session dates prominently throughout the facility. Provide at least 2 weeks’ notice so that supervisors can change the schedule to accommodate the training time.

Stay current on all changes to product design or production procedures through updates from Design Team or the Engineering Team. Guarantee that operators are notified and trained on changes prior to starting. If necessary, update templates, tools, samples, and documents on the factory floor immediately to eliminate any operator confusion.

Schedule at least 2 to 3 hours each day to operate different machines on a rotating basis to aid production goals and maintain familiarity with all machines. This is critical to keep up with the knowledge of the machines and be able to demonstrate proper procedures to trainees.

Travel to different factories to learn new machines, methods, or systems prior to implementation in the factory when required.

Document all incidents where machine downtime was caused by Operator error or lack of understanding or awareness of procedures, either by witnessing firsthand or being informed by Maintenance Techs, Supervisors or Leadership. Use this list to make sure that training materials are updated to bridge the gap and that refresher training is scheduled.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $21.00/hr - $28.00/hr + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Experience and Education:
Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
Typically requires HS and 0-2 years.
