About the Role: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist II to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in AP processes, with a focus on Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) and AP automation within a large organization. This role is essential for ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our accounts payable functions and supporting continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Accurately process a high volume of vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and approval in compliance with company policies.
  • P2P and AP Automation: Support the implementation and optimization of P2P and AP automation systems to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Vendor Relations: Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and other inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Payment Processing: Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers, ensuring timely payments to vendors.
  • Reconciliation: Perform monthly AP reconciliations, including vendor statements and AP sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate and organized records for audit purposes.
  • Reporting: Assist in preparing AP-related reports, including aging reports and other metrics, providing insights for management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the AP function.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the procurement, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of AP processes within the overall financial workflow.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a large organization with exposure to P2P and AP automation systems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AP automation and ERP systems (e.g., JDE). Strong MS Excel skills are required.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in processing and reviewing financial transactions.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
