Overview of Position: The Fare box Repair Technician diagnoses and repairs electronic fare box and revenue collection systems specifically concentrating on repairs on all fare box and revenue collection systems to include fare box, receivers, vaults, and any additional revenue collection equipment. All work performed must be of the highest quality ensuring systems are reliable and functioning correctly. Employee is required to work in such a manner that promotes a safe and productive work environment.
As a Transdev technician you will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs in a safe, efficient, and well-equipped work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses coach electronic revenue collection equipment problems using a variety of diagnostic equipment including the multi-meter, laptop, computer, schematics and wiring diagrams on site and on road calls
- Repairs revenue collection equipment as required
- Repairs may include, but not limited to, coach fare box, receivers, vaults, and ticket vending machines. This could also include card reader, bill transports, coin mechanisms, and other types of equipment.
- Completes paperwork needed to initiate the warranty process if applicable
- Tracks and reviews repair information from files; investigating repetitive problems or existing fleet defects on parts under warranty
- Performs scheduled maintenance on all systems as required.
- Diagnose and repair other components, AVAIL, Zonar, TSI(on board Cameras), LYTX and Headsigns.
- Completely documents all work performed in RTA Software system
- Assists other Fare-box Repair Technicians with lifting and other requests as needed
- Assists other mechanics as requested and performs other duties as assigned
- Works with Dispatch and Coach Operators in repairing revenue collection equipment problems
- Has moderate contact with others outside the organization and vendors

Education, Licensing, and Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
Education, Licensing, and Certifications Preferred:
- Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred
- Two (2) year certificate in Fare boxes preferred
Experience Required:
- Three (3) years progressive heavy electronic box repair experience required
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Elementary radio skills required
- Must have computer word processing skills
- Must have basic math skills
- Must have knowledge of the warranty process
- Must be able to work amid constant interruptions
- Must have the ability to prioritize and be detail oriented
- Must have basic understanding of codes and regulations
- Must be autonomous and self-directed
- Must have the knowledge and ability to perform micro-processing wiring and repair and controller wiring and repairs
- Must have an in depth understanding of the principles of the profession and systems on active fleet
- Must be able to use diagnostic equipment such as a computer (laptop), multi-meter, schematics and wiring diagrams, various hand tools, various pneumatic tools, two-way radio
- Must have the ability to communicate diagnostic information, schematics, and electrical problems both verbally and in written form to Maintenance staff and outside vendors
- Must be able to obtain and retain a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B with Passenger endorsement
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Must submit to drug testing and a background check
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination including a drug test
