Maintenance Manager
NOTE: The following position is for a proposed new/future business within Transdev. Only candidates meeting the work experience requirements will be considered.
About the Position
Join the Transdev team as Fleet Maintenance Manager in San Jose, CA. The Maintenance Manager will supervise the maintenance and repair of buses and support vehicles to contract requirements. The salary range for this opportunity is $100,000 - $125,000.

Manage Maintenance Department:
- Oversee maintenance control, compliance, quality, and warranties.
- Enforce policies and communicate service availability.
Personnel Management:
- Handle hiring, training, discipline, and performance.
- Obtain approval for specific actions.
- Ensure staff completes required courses.
Collaboration and Oversight:
- Work closely with regional management and provide updates.
- Operational Responsibilities:
- Review repair orders and manage fuel, parts, and projects.
Efficiency and Safety:
- Improve processes, assess workload, and support technicians.
Education, Licensing, and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical training preferred
- Ability to obtain a CDL Operator’s license with required endorsements
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Five years of supervisory experience in a lead technician role, supervisor, or other management role requiring a thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA, and other federal and state regulations
- Effective customer service skills for interacting daily with customer
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees and/or customers in a positive manner
- Advanced analytical, financial, and decision-making skills
- Strong experience with computerized diagnostics
- Advanced proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and web-based application
- Industry experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines and school bus equipment is preferred.
- Solid aptitude in planning and scheduling maintenance repairs (Daily, Weekly, Monthly)
- Master ASE Certified inappropriate testing group for the location being managed. (preferred) Or willing and able to achieve.
- Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
