Job Scope:We are looking for a technician that understands electrical wiring and that knows how to work vehicles. We Upfit Police, and utility vehicles. We install lights, replace seats, install Prisoner and K-9 equipment. We are willing to train the right person but needs attention to detail have some general knowledge of automotive repairs. Salary $26-$32 per hr. depending on skill.Major Responsibilities:• Ensure vehicles are safe for our customers by performing limited repairs & troubleshooting of low voltage electrical systems with minimal supervision.• Maintain records of all work completed on vehicles including parts and supplies used. Ensure that work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain parts usage records.• Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken• Evaluates completed work prior to release and seeks approval where required.• Adhere to Transdev standards, policies and procedures.• Moves vehicles safely between job and work area.• Repair and maintain all shop equipment.• Other responsibilities as requested or required.Minimum Education & Certifications Required:• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)Experience & Skills Required:• Mechanical Aptitude• Adhere to standards set by Transdev.• Valid driver’s license• Comfortable using hand tools.• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.• Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment.• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.Physical Requirements & Working Conditions (include amount of travel):• Maintenance Shop environment with dust, dirt, and grease conditions• Ability to work under all weather conditions.• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.• Ability to work in a crouched position or on back, lying on mechanic’s creeperJob Category: Maintenance / Mechanics / Parts / Utility / MaterialsJob Type: Full TimeReq ID: 3076Pay Group: U3WCost Center: 49090The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
