Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Representative to join our team. This role is integral in driving sales growth, particularly in the public safety sector, while ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction at our vehicle upfitting and technology installation locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the unique needs of public safety professionals and a passion for enhancing community safety through innovative technology. This position offers the opportunity to combine sales expertise with in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve sales targets and expand the company’s customer base, particularly within the public safety sector.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets, including law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and other emergency services organizations, through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship building.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, serving as the primary point of contact for their upfitting and technology installation needs.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients, highlighting the value proposition of our solutions.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms of sale to secure profitable business agreements, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
Operations Support
- Coordinate with internal departments such as production, logistics, and customer service to streamline processes and meet customer expectations.
- Assist with inventory, procurement, and supply chain activities to support sales objectives and minimize lead times.
Customer Service
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing timely updates on project status.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to understand customers' requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Follow up with customers post-sale to gather feedback, assess satisfaction levels, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Market Research and Analysis
- Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities, particularly within the public safety sector, to identify growth opportunities and market gaps.
- Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and operational metrics to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of success in sales, with experience in the public safety, technology, or vehicle upfitting industries preferred.
- Strong understanding of operations management principles, including inventory control, supply chain management, and production scheduling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong drive to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working directly with police departments, fire departments, or other emergency services organizations.
- Familiarity with the technology and equipment used in police and emergency vehicles, including installation and upfitting processes.
