Transpacific Assistant Manager - Pricing

Main Purpose of the role:

This position holds the responsibility for pricing, ensuring timely and accurate submission of Bids, Commodity Rate sheets and Spot offerings. When reviewing costing question anomalies and ensure costs remain accurate and competitive. Researching and analyzing internal and external market data with a view to enhance the decision-making process within the trade.

Main Tasks:

 Daily monitoring of all Bids and rate requests to ensure timely and accurate replies according to targets set. Maintain tender and commodity seasonal calendar.

 Daily monitoring of bookings and revenue/NOR targets by service.

 Monitor inbound equipment flows by GOF and prepare proactive action plan prior to spike in equipment stock reports.

 Monitor Piers data for market share, set targets for underperforming lanes.

 Cost and Revenue analysis to ensure optimal routings are being used to quote. Analysis cost details when unable to meet customer/market target rates. Goal to improve overall yield/NOR.

 Understand key markets and commodity trends and seasonality.

 Generate rates based on costs, market guidelines and conditions based on commodity markets.

 Generate reports to understand trends and adapt pricing strategies to align with market.

 Coordinate with management, sales, and colleagues to discuss market rates, rules, and regulations, and make proposal related to market/commodity trends dynamics.

 Ensure timely updated commodity rate sheets and contract offers based on latest costs and changes to market dynamics.

 Prior to bidding work on accounts lanes, to provide rates and suggest strategy initiatives, with yield management strategy to generate best paying mix of cargo within the ZIM network.

 Conducting analysis on customers and port pair mix to develop most optimized cargo base.

 Weekly/Monthly meetings with sales regions within A3 to understand the latest market situation and specific Customer issues for corresponding actions.


Requirements:

5-year trade / sales experience in shipping line / freight forwarder

 Good command of written and spoken English

 Well presented with excellent interpersonal skills

 Good research and analytical skills

 Self-motivated and ability to deal with problems and resolve conflicts.

 Proven ability to develop and maintain good relationship with customers and colleagues.

 Proficiency in using Microsoft Office for analysis, reporting and presentation.
