ESnet Travel Coordinator

Do you have a love of travel and a knack for booking flights, car rentals, and travel for others? How about a strong drive, organizational skills with an eye for detail, ability to multitask in a fast paced environment, demonstrated proficiency in navigating computers and various travel booking programs. ESnet is seeking a well-organized coordinator to help facilitate travel booking for our team members and close out travel expense reports.


Travel Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

  • Working with all staff to arrange travel and accommodations.

  • Act as adviser to the department staff on LBNL Travel policies and procedures.

  • Create and manage an online Travel Desk Guide for staff and affiliates

  • Handles travel issues, conflicts, complaints, and cancellations.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with staff, travel department and other divisions to build and bring in best practices.

  • Provide training for all staff as they onboard the organization.

  • Contributes to agency efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

  • Compile receipts at conclusion of all travel and complete Expense Reports.

  • As needed, support the administrative team with time keeping, events, and requisitions.


Travel Coordinator Qualifications/Skills:

  • Related education in tourism, travel, hospitality or related field

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to negotiate effectively

  • Excellent knowledge of computer reservation computer programs; knowledge of, or experience with reservation systems such as CONCUR.

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Detail oriented and highly organized

  • Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks

  • Working knowledge of domestic, international travel trends

  • Related experience working in a policy driven, government or academic related environment.

Notes:

  • This is a full-time, career appointment, non-exempt (hourly paid) from overtime pay.

  • This position is represented by a union for collective bargaining purposes.

  • This full salary range of this position is between $29.50 to $39.51 per hour and is expected to pay between a targeted range of $32.00 to $37.01 per hour depending upon candidates' full skills, knowledge, and abilities, including education, certifications, and years of experience.

  • This position may be subject to a background check. Any convictions will be evaluated to determine if they directly relate to the responsibilities and requirements of the position. Having a conviction history will not automatically disqualify an applicant from being considered for employment.

  • Work will be primarily performed at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, 1 Cyclotron Road, Berkeley, CA.
