Wachter is accepting applications for Traveling Electricians for service and project work for our clients in various commercial and industrial environments in the Southern California area. Candidates should have experience as an industrial and commercial electrician and love to travel.

Requirements:

    • Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician at the state level is required.
    • Experience as a Lead or Foreman electrician.
    • Experience as a Commercial and/or Industrial Electrician.
    • Based on our clients' needs you could be home or traveling on the road for 1-3 weeks at a time throughout the region.
    • Flexible and willing to work on-call, day, night, weekend, or overtime shifts as the job requires.
    • Ability to read blueprints and comprehend SOW documents.
    • Dependable – must show up to work on time daily.
    • Knowledge of industry standards and current NEC requirements.
    • Safety conscious, follow all applicable PPE guidelines.
    • Has basic hand tools and PPE.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, motivate and mentor field staff
    • Self-motivated, career-minded, looking for a place with advancement opportunities.
    • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
    • Proficient with the use of computers, including email, spreadsheets, and database Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, ect.
    • Advance troubleshooting skills.
    • Demonstrate effective capability in problem-solving and analytical thinking.
    • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Responsible for field deliverables for each site (i.e. pictures, signed checklists, As-Built, etc.)
    • Certified to operate a BOOM or scissor lift, and ability to work at heights.
    • Able to pass drug and background screening.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
    • Ability to pass per-screening tests.

Responsibilities:

    • Inspect and test electrical components to diagnose problems, repair broken electrical components, and install updates for outdated electrical systems.
    • Troubleshoot electrical problems and install new wiring or other components to fix lighting, fuse boxes, and generators.
    • Oversee training for co-workers as needed.
    • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet project deadlines and daily deliverables (i.e. pictures, signed checklists, As-Built, etc.).
    • Resolve conflict while maintaining positive relationships at all levels.
    • Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed electrical systems and component devices are operational.
    • Ensure electrical systems meet local, county, state, or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements.
    • Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Wachter, our customers, or OSHA.
    • Perform any other duties not specifically stated herein, but which your supervisor may assign.
    • Maintain the company’s high standard of quality and professionalism with regards to workmanship, customer relations, coworkers, behavior and appearance.
$21 - $37 an hour
Based on experience.
