Head of FP&A

TRM is on a mission to build a safer financial system for billions of people. The FP&A team is responsible for owning the company’s operating model, helping to drive quarterly and annual strategic planning processes, optimally deploying the company's resources to maximize value creation, and performing financial analyses in partnership with all departments across the company. You will have a unique opportunity to work closely with department heads on real-time high-priority business issues and use quantitative insights to drive better decision-making across TRM. The ideal candidate will not only have the technical skills to support their recommendations, but also strong interpersonal skills to manage various stakeholders.

Team Summary

  • FP&A is a critical function for TRM. The Head of Financial Planning and Analysis will be the leader of the FP&A function at TRM and play a critical role in shaping the Finance team and building our FP&A foundations. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, you will set the foundation of the FP&A organization and develop over time the team, processes, and systems that will allow the company to continue to scale in a financially sound way for years to come.

Job Summary:

  • You will drive strategic decision-making by improving visibility into business performance, leveraging data-driven insights to shape TRM’s long-term trajectory. You’ll manage financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting for the company, partnering with leaders across the company to ensure our continued financial success.

The impact you will have here:

  • Establish, manage, and grow the FP&A team that will support the executive team in understanding the financial implications of strategic decisions (resource investments, spend allocation, business planning, etc.)
  • Set up and lead the company long-term (multi-year) and short-term (annually or semi-annually) planning processes
  • Establish processes and systems to forecast and report on financial performance, manage budgets, and facilitate decisions on major spend requests in partnership with the business
  • Define and report on the key business metrics, proactively analyze business trends and identify opportunities to improve financial performance
  • Play a leadership role in fundraising, M&A, Board of Directors communications, and investor relations

What we’re looking for:

  • 8-10+ years of experience in professional financial practice/corporate finance, including FP&A leadership
  • Experienced at managing high-performing FP&A teams and evolving the FP&A processes, in particular for a fast-growing organization
  • Passion for financial modeling, data analysis, and collaborating with business leaders to build and execute financial plans successfully
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration preferred
  • Advanced understanding of GAAP financial statements
  • Rigorous analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
  • Have a clear track record of successfully cultivating cross-functional business partnerships
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, also at the executive level
  • Ability to strive in a fast-paced environment and to deal with ambiguous situations
  • A desire to join a startup and make critical contributions to the success of the company
  • Must be based out of Philippines
