Job Description

As a Service Dispatcher at Truck Centers, Inc., you’ll be the go-to person keeping our shop running smoothly. From assigning jobs to our skilled technicians to ensuring customers are always up to date on repairs, you’ll play a critical role in making sure everything flows seamlessly. *This position will work 10am-6pm.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Review newly created repair orders (ROs) to make sure everything’s accurate and all info is in place.
  • Keep an eye on shop workload and staffing, assigning jobs to technicians based on their skills and certifications.
  • Work closely with technicians to plan out repairs, set expectations on timelines, and keep things moving.
  • Stay in constant communication with the Parts department to ensure parts arrive on time and keep projects on track.
  • Oversee daily workflow in the shop to make sure technicians are on top of their tasks.
  • Help our Service Estimator prepare accurate estimates by providing key information and updates.
  • Review completed ROs to ensure all documentation is in place per company and warranty guidelines.
  • Communicate with your team during shift changes to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Keep customers informed if there are any changes or delays in the repair process.
  • Let the customer and Service Admin team know as soon as repairs are complete.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License with ability to meet insurance requirements is required; CDL preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in mechanical, trucking, or dealer service operations (4+ years preferred).
  • Solid understanding of Service department operations.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or truck repair experience.
  • Freightliner dealership experience and CIC Level I or II training are a big plus.
  • Strong time management and communication skills—even when things get busy!
  • A knack for organization and problem-solving, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and keep details in order.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and MS Office, with a typing speed of at least 30 wpm. Experience with Procede software is a bonus.
  • Must participate in a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
